MY17 Isuzu MU-X Update Teased

Teaser images of the soon to be revealed MY17 Isuzu MU-X update have been released, ahead of the vehicle’s March unveiling at the Bangkok motor show.

Earlier this month Isuzu Australia launched an updated D-MAX ute range, that included a revised 3.0-litre 4JJ1 turbo-diesel (the 4JJ1 TC-Hi Power) and six-speed transmissions along with a range of interior and exterior enhancements.

While the MU-X logically received the same drivetrain changes, it missed out on the ‘facelift’ and was – as a result – dubbed by Isuzu Australia the MY16.5 MU-X.

That will all change in the coming months when the facelifted MY17 MU-X arrives, featuring (we presume) the changes revealed in these teaser images.

That means an all new front-end featuring a revised grille and bumper, projector headlights and LED daytime running lights. The move to LED lighting includes a pair of new LED tail-lights and the 18″ multi-spoke alloys appear to be a new design.

The current MU-X’s interior is showing it’s age and it looks like Isuzu has added some soft-touch materials to the dash and a new leather interior with wood-grain highlights.

The MY16.5 MU-X received the same infotainment upgrades as the 2017 D-MAX and we’re guessing that the new 7″ and 8″ touchscreens units will carry through to the 2017 MU-X.

Or in other words, we think the MY17 MU-X will add a fresh face and potentially a few minor interior trim tweaks to the MY16.5’s updated Euro 5 drivetrain, infotainment systems and trick downhill descent control system.
