If you were thinking the INEOS Grenadier would never be a thing, think again.
This video goes behind the scenes of the development of the Grenadier 2B prototype vehicles at Magna’s facility in Austria, where more than 250 engineers are testing and attempting to perfect the all-new, built from the ground up, Grenadier 4X4.
With around eight prototype vehicles being built at any one time, a small fleet of Grenadier prototypes will be shipped around the world for real-life testing in varied and challenging environments, in an effort to ensure the final, production-ready, Grenadier is fit for purpose.
When that process is completed, INEOS Automotive will begin production of the Grenadier at its new Hambach manufacturing facility in Germany. Hambach is a modern state-of-the-art facility that was purchased from Mercedes-Benz in late 2020 and is said require only minor repurposing and reprogramming ahead of INEOS Grenadier mass production.
As we’ve previously reported, the Grenadier will be coming to Australia and INEOS Automotive has indicated that it will be priced within cooee of a 70 Series Toyota and both wagon and ute variants will eventually be on offer. The Grenadier is expected to go on sale in Australia towards the end of this year, or early in 2022.
