2017 Mitsubishi L200 Barbarian SVP Debuts In UK

Mitsubishi Motors in the UK gets its off-road groove on with the debut of its new L200 Barbarian SVP. SVP is short for the UK arms Special Vehicle Projects program, designed to provide Mitsubishi customers with exclusive, distinctive vehicles, that will be produced in limited volumes.

Inspired by the one-off Mitsubishi L200 Desert Warrior ‘Pre-runner’, the Mitsubishi L200 Barbarian SVP will be limited to a production run of 250 with half available in Electric Blue metallic and the other half in Cosmos Black.
Stepping up to a Barbarian SVP gets the buyer unique 17-inch black alloy wheels, fitted with BF Goodrich all-terrain tyres (yep, REAL all-terrain tyres).

New and exclusive to SVP black wheel arch extensions toughen-up the exterior look, helped in part by an all-new grille and a black finish on the headlamp and tail lamp bezels, fog lamp surrounds, roof rails and rear bumper.

Other unique to the Barbarian SVP exterior features include shark fin-inspired side steps (you read that right), load bed illumination, puddle lamps, a soft-opening tailgate damper and an SVP emblem on the tailgate.

Interior enhancements consist of ‘six-pack’ leather seats with suede-like ‘Alston’ inserts, with each vehicle’s individual limited edition number and the SVP logo stitched into the headrests, along with front and rear foot-well mood lighting and illuminated Barbarian door sill guards.

Standard features of the Mitsubishi L200 Barbarian SVP include rain and dusk sensors, keyless entry, satellite navigation, Bluetooth, Bi-Xenon headlights with integrated LED daytime running lights, cruise control and a reversing camera.

Being a Triton (called an L200 in most of the rest of the world) power is provided by Mitsubishi’s all-alloy 2.4-litre MIVEC turbodiesel engine, which produces 133kW and 430Nm. A rotary-dial controlled Super Select 4WD system can be combined with a six-speed manual or a five-speed automatic transmission with steering-wheel paddle shifters.

The Mitsubishi L200 Barbarian SVP is available to order now and is priced from £28,479 (excluding VAT) for both blue and black versions.
